Corynephorus is a genus of around 5 species of perennial and evergreen grasses in the Poaceae family. They have a continental distribution and are found on all the continents except Antarctica.
Corynephorus canescens Spiky Blue forms attractive tufted mounds of blue-grey fine foliage. Also commonly known as Clubawn Grass and Ornamental Silver Hair Grass, it is a very uniform and compact ornamental, coloured grass that quickly becomes established in borders or in containers.
This gorgeous grass is not only drought tolerant and resists high heat conditions but is also ideal for adding different colours and textures to your garden. It is excellent as a ground cover or at the edge of the garden.
It is also a great companion to Erica and Sedum species. It will form mounds of 25cm in diameter and height and should be planted in full sun to maintain its intense shades of blue.
